Now out on the “Mysterious”tour with Marti Pellow and a stunning 9 piece band.
It has been a wonderful year so far with enormously enjoyable live concerts and performances here in the UK and in the USA.
I began the year celebrating the 25th anniversary of Julia Fordham’s iconic “Porcelain” album with live performances with full band and just Julia and I in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and all around various splendid venues here in the United Kingdom.
Julia has an incredibly loyal and enthusiastic fan base who flock to her shows from all corners of the globe and they always give us both a stunning reception wherever we play. It is always a joy to work with Julia and to play her beautiful songs and music. We have been musical partners now for almost 30 years!!!
You can find out more about Julia, her recordings, and details of any forthcoming shows by checking out either her main website – www.juliafordham.com or on her Facebook page here- https://www.facebook.com/juliafordham.thesingersongwriter
My other great friend and musical partner Marti Pellow, he of Wet Wet Wet fame, also invited me to do a few shows this year in between our busy schedules recording, writing and performing. We had 2 stunning shows recently. One with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at a massive outdoor festival in Lytham where we did 6 or 7 songs to an adoring crowd of around ten thousand people…… No pressure then!
We also had a 2 hour concert with the Irish RTE orchestral in Dublin which was immensely enjoyable. The people of Dublin always give Marti an incredible welcome and he really sang his heart out. We also debuted a brand new song written by Marti and Ronan Hardiman with a nothing less than exquisite arrangement for orchestra by the masterful arranger Fiachra Trench. It really is a beautiful and moving song called “We’ll be Free.
Fiachra has been responsible for string arrangements on some of the world’s best known tunes over the years and I love his work and respect him enormously.
The audience reaction was extraordinary and I really think that people were genuinely brought to tears by the performance. I am very much looking forward to the opportunity of recording it at some stage.
Marti is returning to the stage for the next few months continuing to tread the boards in various guises and we have been working on a couple of top secret projects to be unveiled in the next month or so.
